I would like to announce MaFF's annual Ferret Giving Tree Party to be held on November 30th at Bill and Jackie's home from 12:00PM to 4:00PM. This is our opportunity to give back to shelters who are not as fortunate as we have been this year. We will start the day with a light lunch (ha, ha), followed by sorting, packing, and labeling parcels for various shelters listed on the 2008 Ferret Giving Tree. After the packages are ready for delivery to the post office, we will gather for the lighting of a special Christmas Tree.

This year's tree is dedicated to Hope and Faith, two special needs ferrets, currently at the MaFF Shelter. We are selling personalized ornaments to hang on Hope and Faith's tree. A $10 donation will put an ornament on their special tree and will be personalized with your ferret (or pet's) name on it. This tree will reside at Bill and Jackie's home and they will light it each night until January 2nd. Your donation will help with the surgery needed to remove the tumor behind Hope's ear and to treat Faith for possible blindness due to someone trying to remove a sticky black substance around her eyes. Ornaments are be available for purchase here on the MaFF website. If you wish to have the ornament sent to you, rather than hanging it on Hope and Faith's tree, please indicate that at the time of your order. Otherwise, ornaments will be personalized and hung on their tree. You can send your donation to P.O. Box 283, Marshfield, MA or use PayPal.

Here is a picture of Hope before her surgery scheduled for November 3rd. To date, three vets have examined her and have no idea what type of tumor she has, but all agree that it must be removed.

Following are what we would like you to bring to this event:

• Donations for the packages for the shelters on the 2008 Ferret Giving Tree. For some ideas, please check out this site
• A favorite holiday dish for our buffet lunch. This can be a salad, an appetizer, or a dessert. Bill and Jackie will be providing lasagna for our main course.
• This is not a ferret event, so no ferrets please. There will be a couple of guest ferrets for anyone needing a fuzzie fix and we hope to have Hope and Faith joining us for the lighting of their special tree.
